Arsenal 1 Manchester United 3

Manchester United crushed title rivals Arsenal at the Emirates to keep the heat on Premier League leaders Chelsea. The Reds went ahead through Manuel Almunia's own-goal before Wayne Rooney and Park Ji-Sung added their names to the scoresheet. Thomas Vermaelen scored with 10 minutes to go for the Gunners but it proved only to be a consolation.

Van der Sar (7): Did well, but not threatened much.

Rafael (5.5): Inexperience, was caught out of position several times.

Brown (6.5): Beaten by Arshavin at times, otherwise well played.

Evans (7): Played well, though make occasional mistake.

Evra (6.5): Caught out of position at times, not his best game.

Nani (8.5): On form, if only he had scored with the good chances.

Scholes (7.5): He played better when there are 3 central midfielders.

Fletcher (7.5): Tough, but not dirty. Wenger must have been jealous.

Carrick (8): Several good penetrating passes, should do it more often.

Park (7.5): Lots of hassling and energy and a great goal.

Rooney (7.5): Done well enough, could have scored more.

Subs:

Manchester United 3 Man City 1

WAYNE Rooney scored in injury time to send Manchester United into the Carling Cup final and leave City heartbroken once again. Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick put United in command before Carlos Tevez pulled the Blues back into contention. However, just as they did in the league game earlier this season, United delivered the hammer blow in added time as Rooney headed home.

Man United 4 Hull city 0

WAYNE Rooney scored all four against Hull to fire Manchester United to the top of the Premier League. The forward scored after just seven minutes, latching onto the rebound after Paul Scholes' long-range piledriver was saved, before three late goals sealed the victory. The quadruple takes Rooney's tally for the season to 20.

Van der Sar (6.5): Easy game, was obstructed often for Hull's corners and the referee turned a blind eye.

Rafael (6): Better than Neville, but still not first team standard.

Ferdinand (7): Played well despite being out for so long. We need him to shout at the defence.

Evans (5.5): Some mistakes here and there, quite unusual.

Evra (6): Out of position several times and that affected Evan's display.

Nani (7.5): Let's not get too carried away, but he deserve extended run in the right wing.

Fletcher (6): Tackle well enough, but unable to use the ball well and lost possession someitmes.

Scholes (6.5): Good vision and play in first half, missing in action for the 2nd half.

Park (5.5): Missed a good chance and played an average game.

Rooney (8): Luck and determination was with him.

Owen (6): Good running and positioning, but lack the final touch and luck.

Man City 2 Man United 1

The script was written perfectly for Manchester City as Carlos Tevez struck twice against old club Manchester United to leave the Blues on the brink of their first domestic final since 1981 after a 2-1 win.

Tevez's two goals (one from a controversial penalty, the other from a controversial corner) came after Ryan Giggs had given visitors United the lead, and his delirious celebrations reflected his, and City's, enthusiasm.

Man United 3 Burnley 0

Dimitar Berbatov, Wayne Rooney and youngster Mame Biram Diouf struck against Burnley to ease the pressure on embattled Manchester United.

Off the field United are facing harsh criticism over their financial predicament, but it was back to business as usual on the pitch with victory over the Clarets.

Berbatov made the breakthrough thanks to a deflected effort on 64 minutes, and a neat finish from Rooney doubled the advantage shortly after. Substitute Diouf then scored his first United goal late on to seal the win.

Van der Sar, 6.5: Played well, but unable to command his defence, way too quiet.

Neville, 5: Lack of pace shown against Eagles. Time to lead United off the field.

Brown, 5.5: Bad game, luckily Burnley strikers are off form.

Evans, 5.5: As Brown, poor defending.

Evra, 6: Attack well, but out of position several times in defence, needing Evans to cover him.

Valencia, 7: Dominated the right wing, but team mates cannot finish off his crosses.

Carrick, 6.5: Was there both in attack and defence, though not much serious threat.

Scholes, 6: Some good, long passes, but did not do much else.

Nani, 6: One of his better games this season and it was only an average display, time to sell him.

Berbatov, 7: Played well despite having injury, nice touches and a good goal.

Rooney, 6: Many wayward passes and poor touches, lucky to score after delaying for too long.

Subs:

Anderson (sub Carrick 64, 5) Standing stil while defending and did not make any good forward pass, where was the Anderson of 2 years ago?

Owen (sub Berbatov 73, 5.5) Need to track back to receive balls.

Diouf (sub Rooney 73, 6.5) Looks lively and composed, clever goal.

Birmingham 1 Man United 1

Man U came from a goal down against Birmingham to rescue a point at a freezing St Andrews. Cameron Jerome scored for the home side after a goalmouth scramble before Scott Dann's own goal put the Reds back on terms. Darren Fletcher was sent off after 84 minutes for a second bookable offence.

Kuszczak (7.5): Three great shot-stopping saves, but at fault for the goal as he again did not come out for the ball!

Rafael (6): Did ok, attacked less due to threat from Birmingham.

Brown (6): Could have played better, slippery ground, Benitez & Jerome was a bit too much for him.

Evans (6.5): Contained threat from Birmingham.

Evra (7): Full of energy both in attack and defence.

Valencia (7): Beat Ridgewell easily on the right but no one finshed off his crosses.

Scholes (7): Good range of passes and did not make defensive error.

Fletcher (6): Should not make unnecessary tackles when you are on a yellow and the referee is not your friend.

Carrick (6.5): Played some good passes into the attacking zone, but Birmingham had too many bodies.

Park (6): Brought energy but penetration not enough.

Rooney (6): Not at his best as a lone attacker.
Subs:

Giggs (5.5) (sub Park 66) Set pieces not good enough.

Diouf (5.5) (sub Scholes 81) Lone striker in his first game is a bit too much to ask of him.

Man United 0 Leeds 1

United were dumped out of the FA Cup on their own patch by arch rivals Leeds. Jermaine Beckford's first-half goal sent Leeds into dreamland at Old Trafford. The in-form striker's 20th goal of the season was enough to dump United out of the competition.
