Antonio Valencia is to undergo a medical at Manchester United today, according to reports.
The Wigan winger has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time, and the transfer now appears to be on the verge of being finalised.

Manchester United and Arsenal will face tough competition to secure the signing of Gremio's Douglas Costa after the player's agent confirmed that the Brazilian starlet has been targeted by a major German side, rumoured to be Bayern Munich.

Fergie is setting his sights on capturing £40m hot-shot Karim Benzema from Lyon. United's chances of snatching French striker Benzema received a boost when Real's bid to snap him up failed yesterday after Bernabeu striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar refused to be part of a swap deal that would have taken him to Lyon.

Ferguson has been tracking 20-year-old Sanchez - known as “El Nino Maravilla” (the Wonder Boy) in South America - for some time and bringing in another wideman will help fill the huge void left by Cristiano Ronaldo’s £80m departure to Real Madrid. Sanchez, capped 22 times for his country, has a £15m buyout clause in his contract.

After months of speculation, People newspaper says that Man Utd have clinched Wigan midfielder Antonio Valencia for £15.25m. If Valencia has signed, or is set to sign, he looks a welcome addition as the Ecuadorian midfielder has experienced his best season yet for Wigan, with a number of impressive performances. In total this season, Valencia has scored three goals and created five assists in a total of 31 games with the Latics.

Real Madrid and Manchester United have finalised an agreement for the £80m ($131.6m or €93.9m) transfer of Ronaldo to the Spanish club. Real Madrid and Manchester United have signed a final agreement for the transfer of the rights of Cristiano Ronaldo from July 1.

Utd want to sign Benzemabut Lyon should not ask for more than £35 million, according to the player's agent. "Karim can't be valued higher than David Villa, who will cost more than £40m." Lyon have been playing hardball over Benzema, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea. They initially insisted he would cost upwards of £60m but admitted they would take less if the player wanted to leave.

Klaas Jan Huntelaar is the latest big-name striker to be linked with a move to Manchester United. With attempt to lure Karim Benzema to Old Trafford looks fraught with difficulty, it is not a shock either that it has been suggested a move for Huntelaar by Sir Alex Ferguson is on the cards.

Sir Alex Ferguson took another step towards the £30m capture of striker Karim Benzema. But Manchester United could yet face fierce competition from bitter ­transfer market rivals Real Madrid. Lyon opened the door to the sale of prize asset Benzema by making a £15m move for Porto striker Lisandro Lopez. Manchester United will have to fork out big to land Douglas Costa. The Reds wanted to take the 18-year-old Brazilian on trial before making a decision on him, but Gremio insist the £18million-rated forward is too good for such a proposal.

Real Madrid are threatening to hijack Utd's bid to sign Karim Benzema from Lyon. The Spanish giants are ready to turn to the France striker after being frustrated in their attempts to sign David Villa from Valencia. Euro 2008 striker Villa is keen on a move to the Bernabeu, but Valencia say he is no longer available for sale.

Wigan say they have received "acceptable" bids of £14m to £18m from Manchester United and Real Madrid for winger Antonio Valencia.

Man Utd want Atletico Madrid's Argentine striker Sergio Aguero - valued at £45m .

Reports in Brazil have claimed that Manchester United offered to take Gremio starlet Douglas Costa on a 20-day trial, but were rejected by the Brazilian club.

Manchester United are being tipped to make a move for 24 years old Nilmar, the £20million-rated striker . Nilmar has spent the last two years in his homeland with Internacional, where he boasts a record of a goal every other game.

Manchester United's Darron Gibson says he is keen to sign a new contract despite a lack of first-team opportunities lessening his chances of playing in next year's World Cup, should the Republic of Ireland qualify.

Manchester United could be priced out of a move for Gremio's 18-year-old midfielder Douglas Costa, who has been called the new Cristiano Ronaldo. His agent says there is a £13.5m get-out clause in his contract and he will be worth double his current price by the end of the Brazilian season.

Utd's pursuit of Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes could be scuppered by the Catalunya outfit's willingness to meet the player's contract demands, and so the Premier League champions have instead turned to Villarreal goal guardian Diego Lopez, according to Sport. Not too sure about these, but Ben Foster looks decent enough, albeit, he is injured too often.

The agent of Douglas Costa has claimed that Premier League giants Manchester United have begun talks with Gremio to purchase the youngster, according to a report emanating from Setanta. The Red Devils are said to have been tracking the 18-year-old for the past couple of years and may now be ready to pounce following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.

Daily Star reports that Man Utd looks certain to land Karim Benzema. Man Utd will have to pay £30 million for Benzema. David Villa has also been linked with Man Utd and Chelsea, but now it looks as if the battle is over as he is rumoured to join Real (another report said that he is removed from the transfer list by Valencia).

Premier League champions Manchester United have missed out on the signing of Paris Saint-Germain starlet Alassane Tambe after the youngster agreed a professional deal with the Ligue 1 outfit. The 17-year-old highly-rated defender has agreed a three-year contract with the Parc des Princes outfit, who were anxious to secure his services with several clubs poised to swoop.

Man City is confident that Tevez will be signing for them soon.

Roma could sacrifice Mirko Vucinic on the transfer market this summer with Manchester United said to be keen.The Giallorossi have a habit of selling one of their big players every summer to help with finances and it would be the Montenegro international’s turn this time around. Manchester United are preparing to sign Gremio starlet Douglas Costa as a replacement for Real Madrid-bound Ronaldo, according to the Brazilian's agent. Douglas, who has received rave reviews in his homeland, has four years remaining on his contract with Gremio but reportedly has a £17.8m buyout clause. The diminutive U20 international is seen as one of the biggest up-and-coming talents in Brazil - alongside Santos winger Neymar and Palmeiras striker Keirrison - and is also a free-kick specialist. Costa generally plays through the centre but can also play on the left.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has claimed Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona have all made offers for France playmaker Franck Ribery.

Man Utd Latest Transfer News: Valencia, Ribery, Nani

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has confirmed that Manchester United have made a series of bids for Ecuador winger Antonio Valencia and he expects another cash offer to arrive shortly. A figure of around £15m is expected to be enough to secure the services of the 23-year-old winger.

Bayern Munich are determined to keep hold of star midifielder Franck Ribery, but must now be aware that the new wave of cash flooding the transfer market will make him more affordable to interested clubs. The Bundesliga side have already stated the France international will not leave unless a rival club comes up with an offer they cannot refuse, which general manager Uli Hoeness now says will have to be a ''crazy'' bid.

Manchester United winger Nani hopes to play more once Cristiano Ronaldo departs for Real Madrid in an £80m transfer. "Ronaldo was a very important player for us but now my opportunity has come,'' Nani said to Portuguese sports newspaper OJOGO. "The time has come (for Manchester United) to put their trust in me.''

Cristiano Ronaldo on Way Out of Man Utd

Ronaldo is set to complete a word record £80m move from Manchester United to Real by the end of the month, and would initially earn £9.5m-a-year the contract would include a 25% increase season-on season. The 24-year-old is expected to sign a six-year contract at the Bernabeu, which means by the final year he would be on £29m-a-year.

3 Man Utd Youngsters Transfer Listed?

Three of Manchester United's younger squad members have been put on the transfer list. Frazier Campbell, Danny Simpson and Darron Gibson will all be leaving Man United in the summer.

Darron Gibson is the most promising of the three, but may be his chance will be limited with Hargreaves coming back from injury.
