Man Utd Latest Transfer News: Valencia, Ribery, Nani

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has confirmed that Manchester United have made a series of bids for Ecuador winger Antonio Valencia and he expects another cash offer to arrive shortly. A figure of around £15m is expected to be enough to secure the services of the 23-year-old winger.

Bayern Munich are determined to keep hold of star midifielder Franck Ribery, but must now be aware that the new wave of cash flooding the transfer market will make him more affordable to interested clubs. The Bundesliga side have already stated the France international will not leave unless a rival club comes up with an offer they cannot refuse, which general manager Uli Hoeness now says will have to be a ''crazy'' bid.

Manchester United winger Nani hopes to play more once Cristiano Ronaldo departs for Real Madrid in an £80m transfer. "Ronaldo was a very important player for us but now my opportunity has come,'' Nani said to Portuguese sports newspaper OJOGO. "The time has come (for Manchester United) to put their trust in me.''
