Audi Cup: Man Utd 2 Boca Juniors 1

Anderson netted his first goal for the club with a stunning free-kick. He curled an unstoppable free-kick from outside the right-hand corner of the penalty area into the far corner of Roberto Abbondanzieri's goal for his first ever goal for the Red Devils.

Valencia then scored on his Manchester United debut. He received the ball centrally from Rooney and, with a dip of the shoulder, he skipped past two Boca defenders before taking aim and releasing a shot from the edge of the area which squirmed under Abbondanzieri's body and in.

Federico Insua reduced the arrears in the 55th minute as the Argentinians dominated the second half, but Sir Alex Ferguson's side held on to reach the final with a score of 2-1.

Darron Gibson crossed after collecting a superb crossfield pass from Anderson, and though Dimitar Berbatov was repelled by Mohammed Farizal Marlias, Rooney was on hand to expertly steer a shot into the top corner.

Rooney then threaded a superb pass through the home defence, Nani applied the finish and it appeared United would saunter home.

Mohammed Amri Yahyah, one of only two full internationals to start for the Malaysian side, who halved the deficit just before the interval, then levelled eight minutes after the re-start. On both occasions, questions could be asked of the goalkeeper.

But Michael Owen marked his Manchester United debut with a late winner to save his side's blushes in Kuala Lumpur. When Zoran Tosic was upended in the penalty area going for a 50-50 challenge, there was Owen to pounce on the loose ball and stroke the Red Devils to victory.

Man Utd Latest Transfer News 10 Jul 09 Campbell Berbatov Aguero

Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell is poised to join Sunderland after the clubs agreed a £5.5 million transfer fee for the England Under-21 international. The Huddersfield-born forward, who made just four senior appearances for the Premier League champions whom he joined as a schoolboy, is due to undergo medical tests on Wearside and discuss personal terms with the deal likely to be finalised early next week.

Dimitar Berbatov's short and tumultuous Old Trafford stay looks increasingly bleak as Utd weigh up a swap deal to lure Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero. United are understood to have initially offered £34million and Portuguese bit-part winger Nani as a makeweight for the Argentine ace. But the Spanish outfit, not keen on Nani, rejected the offer and now the Premier League champions are set to return with last season's £30.75million Bulgarian recruit and £17.1million to force a deal with Atletico, according to Spanish daily AS.

Latest Man Utd Transfer New: In for Ibrahimovic?

Manchester United have been keeping their eyes on Inter ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic and are ready to make a bid after missing out on Karim Benzema, according to The Mirror. Despite reports in England, Inter director Lele Oriali claimed on Tuesday that the striker will be staying with the Nerazzurri. Inter have regularly underlined their intention to keep Ibrahimovic, managing to keep Barcelona at bay last month, despite reports of a mega offer.

Furthermore, Jose Mourinho recently suggested that no player will be sold once pre-season begins, which will be tomorrow morning for Inter. If reports in England are to be believed, Ferguson would have to offer the Nerazzurri a mega payment within the next 24 hours in order to beat Mourinho's transfer deadline. Over the last few weeks, reports in Italy regarding the striker's future have become less frequent, suggesting he is likely to remain.
