Man Utd Transfer News (1 Jul 09) Vidic Valencia Benzema

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has told the Sun he received an offer from Italian giants Milan. Quotes from Vidic:“I got offers from Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid and I played a very honest game - I disclosed all these offers to my boss Sir Alex.“He reacted quickly. I was told he was raising my pay to bring it to the level where my reputation is in the Premier League and Europe. “After Milan and Real Madrid made their offers, Barcelona came in - they wanted to pay £30m for my services, but after Sir Alex's move, I am definitely staying in Manchester until my contract expires in 2012.”

After securing Wigan's Antonio Valencia, Manchester United could now bolster their forward line with a move for £11m-rated Toulouse forward Andre-Pierre Gignac. Or it may be that Lyon's Karim Benzema is next on United manager Sir Alex Ferguson's list of priorities at Old Trafford, with the France international forward's team-mate Miralem Pjanic claiming a £38m move is in the offing.
